Tasks.
Reflection.
What did I do? (Remembering): This week involved the completion of the analysis report. We had our team meeting on Tuesday and it was decided that all team members were to review the analysis report draft and post comments by Friday. All final edits were made on Saturday and Sunday as mentioned above. I was able to attend the virtual team meeting this week, thankfully, because I had lots to discuss with finalizing the analysis report. Other topics discussed in the team meeting were the statement of work, Articulate Storyline 2, Moodle platform and certificates, and planning on when to record skill videos. All team members had the opportunity to offer input during the meeting.
What was important about it? (Understanding): What I found to be most important this week was the collaborative effort on the analysis report final edits. This collaboration is not only important for the accuracy of the report, but also to confirm that all team members are on the same page. Thank goodness everyone was involved in this process because as Amy and I spoke about the edits we identified a small discrepancy between the project charter and the analysis report. Together we were able to make the correction.
Where could I use this again? (Application): Collaboration is a key aspect in all group work tasks and projects. Skills gained in improving collaboration from teamwork experience will be of value for future group work opportunities. The requirement of all team members input prior to submission of final work is also of importance. If all do not approve, how can each member take ownership in the assignment? Understanding that although one team member's role has a primary task or responsibility does not mean all members can not contribute feedback is important in the collaborative efforts amongst a team and yields better outcomes in the end.
Do I see any patterns in what I did? (Analysis): I found that the team basically offered constructive feedback on the same areas, so making the final edits on the analysis report was well-guided to focus on the weaker areas presented in the draft. The pattern falls in the fact that each team member made some form of comment on weaker areas, so the strengthening of these areas was somewhat of a consensus. Again, although the analysis report is the primary responsibility of the lead instructional designer and the lead evaluator, the report was completed with team effort.
How well did I do? (Evaluating): I feel my communication was much improved this week. My schedule was more permitting of me frequently checking our Google+ community, my email, and able to attend the team meeting. I feel the edits made to the analysis report were streamlined based on the feedback from the team, and communication as a whole was improved this week.
What should I do next? (Creating): Next step record a brief video describing the analysis report. Next week I also plan on contributing to the statement of work as needed and beginning to organize the notes offered by the clients to begin the creating the subordinate objects and test questions.
