What did I do? (Remembering)- I met with the client with Amy to collect better detail on the instructional need, but experienced a bit of scope creep from the client based on the initial project proposal provided by Dr. Martindale. The client stated this project is her "dream" and was beginning to add additional units such as patient hygiene to the list of units. This made me very nervous. I have discussed this concern with the team and our PM, Amy, has reached out to our client to clarify the product content and vision. Response from our client is still pending as of 9/11/16. I also worked together with Nicole, lead evaluator, to initiate our Analysis Report.
What was important about it? (Understanding)- First, it is VERY important that we are on the same page as our client in regards to the end product in order to create a solution to the need and resolve the need. Second, it is VERY important that Nicole and I are on the same page while working on the Analysis Report, otherwise our efforts may not be complimentary or collaborative, rather broken and non-cohesive.
Where could I use this again? (Application)- These experiences are typical of teamwork and client-design team relationships. What I learn from these experiences I will use again as our project progresses and in future projects I may be involved in.
Do I see any patterns in what I did? (Analysis)- I cannot say that I see any patterns as of yet, other than our group pattern of communication taking place initially by virtual meetings via Google Hangouts, then follow-up with shared documents and Google+ community messages. Everything in regards to communication appears to be following suit well at this time.
How well did I do? (Evaluating)- I feel as though I am doing well so far. I have met my primary responsibilities, maintained daily communication with my team and have met all of my course unit assignments. Since I initiated the Analysis Report, I feel that I should have dedicated more time to the Statement of Work that I did. I need to look into who is should be the primary lead on this document.
What should I do next? (Creating)- My next task is to continue working on the Analysis Report and continue to follow-up on the client's end product need. Do they REALLY need patient hygiene, or is this only scope creep? We know the platform for the instructional delivery is Moodle, but what is the application we need to use foe designing the actual instruction? These questions still remain that need answers very soon.
