Tasks.
Reflection.
What did I do? (Remembering): I spent this week primarily on the content analysis. I broke the work up over segments to permit progress over a week time span and the workload was heavier on the front end of the week as I was out of town for a professional conference that I presented in at the end of the week. Sure am glad to have that over. I also discussed the instructional model with Raquell and I think we have a great lead on our model. There was some questioning about the mastery level of our instructional goals by the other group in our Content Analysis assignment. I reviewed this with our team, and our project manager discussed this with our SMEs. The SMEs decided to actually drop our mastery level rather than increasing it like we were anticipating. I found that surprising given the content; however, I agree it is similar to the norm for hospital-based educational modules.
What was important about it? (Understanding): We have well entered the analysis portion of the PACT steps (Russell, 2015) for our project. We are progressing quickly and each step continues to be just as important as the step before it. Any slack in attention can have detrimental effects in the end. I think it is good to not make assumptions and question the SME rather than hesitating to ask due to fear of asking too many questions of the SME. I remind myself that there in no stupid question, but I question the impression that is made when there are too many questions being asked of the SME at infrequent times rather than being planned in intervals.
Where could I use this again? (Application): The consideration of avoiding assumptions and asking questions is something that will come up again in my future, whether working on a project or not. This is a overall good learning experience with strong transfer learning across fields and practices.
Do I see any patterns in what I did? (Analysis): Like one of my teammates expressed in her 15/5, I am seeing the team continue to become more efficient and plans are being made to continue streamlining our processes in regards to reviewing documents prior to submission and communication. Go team!
How well did I do? (Evaluating): I completed all deadlines on time and was able to offer assistance to teammates as well. I feel I am maintaining requirements and what is needed of me by my teammates, and able to help out a bit more than last week. I was not able to chime in as much towards the latter end of the week, but next week it should not be an issue. I received great support from my team.
What should I do next? (Creating): The next step is to complete the content analysis and instructional model and strategy rough draft.
